Considering dental implants? Restore your smile permanently
Missing teeth can negatively affect your speech, ability to chew, and may even impact your self-esteem. Unlike temporary solutions, dental implants provide a permanent foundation that looks, feels, and functions like your natural teeth. If you are self-conscious of smiling or are dealing with issues because of missing or damaged teeth, dental implants offer a long-lasting solution that can transform your oral health.

What are Dental Implants

Dental implants are small titanium posts that are placed directly into your jawbone. Think of them as artificial tooth roots. Over time, they fuse with your bone, creating a strong and stable foundation for replacement teeth. This allows us to securely attach a crown or denture, custom-made for you, that can feel, and function just like your natural teeth. Once the crown is connected to the implant, it’s able to withstand the force of chewing, offering a long-term tooth replacement solution while improving the appearance of your smile.
The Benefits of Dental Implants
Choosing a dental implant offers many advantages for our oral health and well-being, such as:
- Natural look and feel: Implant crowns are custom-made for you in shape and colour, so they blend seamlessly with your existing teeth. You’ll enjoy a natural-looking smile and the confidence to eat, speak, and laugh without hesitation!
- No fear of shifting: Unlike dentures that can slip or shift, implants are anchored securely in your jaw. You’ll be able to enjoy your favourite foods with comfort (with no fear of shifting!).
- Long-term solution: Unlike bridges and temporary dentures, which typically require replacement between 5 and 15 years, dental implants will last for the rest of your life.
- Improved oral health: Implants help prevent bone loss, which can happen after tooth extraction. They also support neighbouring teeth, maintaining the structure of your mouth.
Implant-Supported Dentures
While typical crown implants are best suited for single tooth replacement, multiple-tooth replacements may require a different approach. Implant-supported dentures offer an advanced solution for performing a multiple-tooth restoration in a minimally invasive way. Unlike traditional removable partial dentures that clasp onto remaining natural teeth, implant-supported options anchor securely onto implants, providing support, stability, and comfort.
We offer both implant-supported partial and complete dentures, and are happy to discuss the best option for you during your comprehensive consultation.

The Dental Implant Process: What to Expect
We want you to feel fully informed and comfortable when getting a dental implant. Here’s what you can expect:
Consultation and treatment planning
Your treatment begins with a thorough consultation with our experienced and compassionate dental team. We use advanced imaging technology to precisely plan your implant placement to get the best possible outcome. Dr. Bains will then discuss your options and work with you to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.
Implant placement
When you come in for your implant placement, we’ll make sure you’re comfortable and at ease with the procedure. We’ll give you local anesthesia for your comfort, then place the titanium implant post into your jawbone to create a stable foundation for your replacement tooth. We also offer additional sedation options for patients who have dental anxiety to feel comfortable during the procedure.
Healing and integration
After the procedure, the implant needs about 3-6 months to fully fuse with your jawbone. During this time, we can provide a temporary crown if needed – your comfort and confidence are our priority through this process.
Final restoration
Once healing is complete, we’ll attach the custom-made crown or implant-supported denture to your implant that perfectly matches your natural teeth. After attaching the crown or denture, your dental implant treatment is complete!
